1817 N-16 R1 15-Star Obverse PCGS graded MS62 Brown. Frosty light to medium brown and steel mixed with darker bluish steel and olive tones on the obverse. Satiny mint luster covers the fields and protected areas, particularly on the obverse. The notable marks are a diagonal nick on the jaw and a faint diagonal hairline over NE in ONE. MDS with a small but clearly defined cud break above the first A in AMERICA. The short dash to the right from the top of the F in OF is dull but still visible. An attractive example of the 15-Star Obverse variety. Our grade is AU55. Noyes photo #21217. The attribution and Koshkarian provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 2; 3 finer, 1 in 63, 1 in 64, 1 in 65 for the variety. Estimate Value $3,500 - UP
