1817 N-6 R1 PCGS graded MS63 Brown. Lustrous bluish steel and olive with a couple hints of very faded mint color on the obverse. No spots or stains; nearly flawless. The only marks, and they are barely visible with a strong glass, are a faint diagonal hairline before the nose, a tiny rim nick at star 5, and another small rim nick over the left top of the second T in STATES. LDS. The fields are covered with fine radial flowlines, most of the dentils are weak or missing, and there is an obvious lump on the left side of the upright of the T in LIBERTY. A very nice cent. Our grade is MS62. Noyes says MS63 Choice and tied for CC#1 honors, his photo #20818. The attribution and Koshkarian provenance are noted on the PCGS label.
