Lot 46

1803 S-252 R2 Small Date & Fraction PCGS graded AU58+, CAC Approved. Frosty medium brown and tan with darker steel brown toning on the highpoints. Mint luster covers the fields and protected areas and the eye appeal of this cent is quite nice. There are a few small puffs of darker steel toning near the dentils at MERICA and another under the T in UNITED. The only notable contact mark is a diagonal nick in the field before the neck. A beautiful cent with just a touch of friction on the highpoints of the devices. MDS, Breen state III, with die cracks through the date and lower curls and die clashmarks on the reverse. Graded AU50 net EF45 and tied for CC#6 in the Noyes census, his photo #59382. Our grade is AU50+, close to AU55. The attribution and Koshkarian provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 1; 2 finer, 1 in 61, 1 in 63 for the variety. Estimate Value $5,500 - UP
