Lot 111

1837 N-10 R1 Beaded Hair Cord PCGS graded MS65 Brown, CAC Approved. Very attractive lustrous bluish steel and light olive with mellowed mint red covering 10% of the obverse, more on the reverse. The only notable marks are a tiny speck of darker toning over star 4 and a microscopic planchet flake under the right corner of the eye (as struck). Neither mark is visible without the aid of a glass and this cent offers outstanding eye appeal. EDS. Very sharply struck with a wide, squared rim all the way around the obverse and sharp dentils on both sides. A very impressive cent that has a "Medallic" look. Our grade is MS63. The attribution and Koshkarian provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 4; 2 finer, 1 in 65+, 1 in 66 for the variety. Estimate Value $1,750 - UP
Ex Chris McCawley 12/2004.
