Lot 443

1854 C-1 R1+ PCGS graded MS66 Brown. Highly lustrous light to medium bluish steel with tiny peeps of faded mint red showing on the reverse. Satiny mint frost covers the entire surface on both sides and this half cent offers superb eye appeal. The only marks are a shallow planchet void off the upper left point of star 10 and a microscopic planchet flake at the tip of the nose (both as struck). Sharply struck MDS, Manley state 2.0, with a small but strong lump on the upper part of the I in UNITED. An eye-catching half cent. Our grade is MS65+.
Estimated Value $1,000-UP.

Realized $1,998
