Lot 1498

1911-S. PCGS graded MS-66+. CAC Approved. Lovely light toning on both sides. This is one of the tougher issues to find in full Gem condition, and at this lofty grade level is noteworthy as one of the finest known of this date and mint. The surfaces are satin smooth, with nary a nick or mark to be found. Delicate golden toning is found with examined. In terms of rarity, David Akers notes that the 1911-S in Gem grades is on par with the rarity of the San Francisco issues of 1906 to 1908 for the Barber Halves. This is fabululous example of this rare date. Quite attractive. Pop 1; 1 finer in 67+. (PCGS # 6523) .
Estimated Value $6,500 - 7,000.
