Lot 243

1850 N-7 R1 PCGS graded MS64 Red & Brown. Lustrous mint red fading to steel brown and light chocolate with at least two-thirds of the mellowing mint color remaining. The only marks are a small swipe of olive toning on the main curl and two small spots of similar toning over star 12. M-LDS, die state b, the usual hoard die state for this variety. The portrait is sharply impressed while the dentils are relatively mushy, which is normal for the variety. Our grade is MS64, same as the PCGS assessment. The attribution and Green Tree Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 4; 6 finer, 5 in 65, 1 in 66 for the variety. Estimate Value $500 - UP
