Lot 133

1809 C-6 R1 PCGS graded MS64 Brown, CAC Approved. Lustrous bluish steel brown and light olive with traces of very faded mint red showing on both sides, especially on the obverse. A choice example if not for a few small spots, including one on star 4 and another in the hair over the B in LIBERTY. E-MDS, Manley state 3.0 early, with a narrow rim cud break from star 9 to star 10 and a smaller one over star 8. Manley's state 3.0 usually has no dentils remaining on the reverse, but dentils are visible on most of this reverse. The reverse is aligned 70 degrees CCW from the normal head-to-foot orientation. An attractive half cent in spite of the minor spots. Our grade is MS60+. The attribution and Green Tree Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 1; 4 finer, 2 in 65, 2 in 65+ for the variety. Estimate Value $1,500 - UP
