Three Unusual Flown Items Shuttle Atlantis: US Flag Segments, TCS Blanket Portion & Sniff Tube Clamps. STS-86 Shuttle Atlantis (OV-104) flown items including three segments of the US Flag painted on a Nomex Felt blanket affixed mid-fuselage above the upper left wing. Flag was painted with a Corning 3140 silicon based material by adding pigments which could withstand up to 800 degrees Fahrenheit. Also included a cut section of a Thermal Control System (TCS) with non-continuance sheet and red tag 5 x 4" and two flown fuel sniff tube clamps yellow-tagged with parts numbers and information sheet.
