NASA Flown Contingency Water Stowage Restraint Bag / Shuttle Program, This artifact is part of a NASA Contingency Water Stowage Bag was flown during STS-118. The CWC was made up of two parts, the restraint bag (offered in this lot) and an inner bladder which is not. The bag is flight hardware NASA Part # 10132-10032-04 sn/5037 and was supplied to NASA by Boeing and was manufactured August, 1995. These bags, made of Nomex, were used for a variety of fluid collections and stowage applications on the Space Shuttle, MIR and ISS systems in addtion to providing potable water. When filled, these bags would weigh about 90 pounds on Earth. Bags measure 19 x 16" and were stowed when empty in Shuttle Middeck Lockers. The bag offered here is an older generation. Purchased at NASA surplus, COA included.
