Apollo 1, Paul Haney "AS204 Accident" Confidential Documents & Photos of the Tragedy. Paul Haney (1929-2009) was best known as the voice of NASA's mission control for his live commentary during the Gemini and Apollo space flights in the 1960s. Offered here 50 years after the tragedy is an unusual compilation report of NASA Press Releases relating to the Apollo 1 flash fire as sent to Haney with the label "Sensitive/Eyes Only". The purpose was to prevent differing causation releases being made by the various Public Information Offices of NASA. Also included are various cables and documents as received relating to the accident and a packet of 20+ 4 x 6" color photos of the Command Module after the fire, each with forensic notations on verso. along with a March 1966 letter from Rick Boos. Somewhat mixed condition, but a real insider's view of the tragedy. Estimate Value $1,500 - UP
