Dr. Wernher von Braun Handwritten Letter Regarding X-4 and X-7 Missils and Related Letters/ Histories 1970s. Wernher Magnus Maximilian Freiherr von Braun (1912-1977) was a German, later American, aerospace engineer credited with inventing the V-2 rocket for Nazi Germany and the Saturn V for the United States. He was one of the leading figures in the development of rocket technology in N*zi Germany, where he was a member of the Party and the SS. Following World War II, he was secretly moved to the United States, along with about 1,500 other scientists, engineers, and technicians, as part of Operation Paperclip, where he developed the rockets that launched the United States' first space satellite Explorer 1, and the Apollo program manned lunar landings. Offered is a notebook of related material of von Braun and many of his associates with letters and histories being answered in response to author of rocketry and space history, Mitchell R. Sharpe, with letters from Magunus Von Braun, W. Heisenberg, Albert Schuler and many more. Best is a handwritten in pencil and signed, two page by Dr. Wernher Von Braun answering about ten of Sharpe's questions dated July 15, 1974 in excellent condition.
