Tiffany & Co. Rare Sterling Silver Matchstick Pencil Holder. Extrememly rare matchstick style pencil bearing the "TIFFANY & Co." stamp, fashioned of sterling silver with "STERLING" stamp, including a loop for attachment to pocketwatch fob. Produced for the 1878 Exposition Universelle in Paris. Length: 2½", 3¼" fully extended. An unusual and highly collectible souvenir of the most impressive World's Fair of its time. Excellent.
Accompanied by a vintage vest-pocket design pencil, crafted of sterling silver with a scrolling foliate design and blooming lilies, stamped "STERLING", attributed to Battin & Co. Length: 3", 4¼" fully extended. Some denting, good to very good. Estimate Value $200 - 400
