3 Rare Late 19th Century Russian Boxes One Birch Wood with Imperial Coat of Arms and 2 Tortoise Shell. Three antique boxes from Russia all late 19th century pieces. First a birch box ca. 1900 quite well handmade with the Russian Imperial Coat of Arms on lid in gilt medal and enamel. 6¾ x 3¾ x 2¾" and remains in very good condition. Also included are two round tortoise shell boxes, one likely a lady's powder box with petite painted stripes over tortoise shell and a lovely hand painted miniature of four beautiful children ca. 1890s. Wear to sides from use, but lid with miniature remains quite beautiful and measures 3 x 3 x 1¼". Finally a small round tortoise shell box with a Russian medal inset dated 1849 also with the Russian Imperial Coat of Arms which was used until 1917. The box 2½ x 2½ x ¾" and has only very minor scratches, impressive given the age. Estimate Value $700 - 1,000
