Exceptional and Rare Stoehr Copper Kettle (1820s) and Reference Book. Stamped "D.Stoehr." (1787-1863) active circa 1821, West Hanover, York County, Pennsylvania, 1820-1830. The circular domed lid fitting to conforming sloping shoulders above a tapering cylindrical body, with serpentine spout and applied C-scroll handle, the handle stamped "D. STOEHR." Minor dents, evidence of more than a century of use. Height: 6¾". Height with handle upright: 11¾". Diameter at base: 7¼". Very fine condition. Conveying with this highly collectible antique teakettle is a history of similar items, American Copper & Brass, by Henry Kauffman (1968). Estimate Value $1,200 - 1,500
