Lot 384

Two Large 19th Century Hand Hammered Copper Cooking Vessels. Two large and very heavy 19th century hand hammered copper cooking vessels. These two pieces are absolutely magnificent and their exteriors in excellent condition. The large single handled pot stands 10 inches tall and nine inches in diameter at the base. Outstanding craftsmanship especially the "dove tailed" seamwork along the side burnished perfectly; no uneven edges to the touch. Interior appears to be tin and has accumulated some lime residue at bottom. The other lidded pot stands 8" tall, and 9 inches in diameter at base. It too is lined in tin but has a great deal of lime along sides and base is covered with something seriously baked on. Underneath pot, heavily blackened from use. Estimate Value $500 - 800

Realized $313
