Madame Queen Hawley H. Riley, 1946 Original Illustrated Art of Athcheson Topeka & Santa Fe. Hawley Riley, post WWII artist worked in New York City and found some success in commercial art and illustration for magazines and corporate use. After several years he left NYC and moved to the Midwest and taught commercial art in University. Offered here is an oil on canvas of the famed Atcheson Topeka Santa Fe locomotive and nicknamed "Madame Queen". Train was donated at the end of service to the city of Amarillo, Texas where she still stands proudly. Painting measures 23 x 19" and remains in excellent condition. Artist has lettered his name in lower left and signed and dated on back of canvas. Estimate Value $500 - 800
