The Grateful Dead; Signed and Dated 1967 Original Photo by Bob Seidemann. Bob Seidemann is an American graphic artist and photographer best known for the creation of several album covers and portraits of musicians in the 1960s and 1970s including the notorious BLIND FAITH album art for Eric Clapton. This photograph of the Grateful Dead was made at the height of the "American Cultural Revolution", 1967 and is without a doubt the most famous portrait of the legendary band. This was the second attempt to make the picture. On a previous attempt the police stopped the shoot. On the second attempt Seidemann had to round up the Dead and five people, who were to hold mirrors, which is how the effect of light in the faces was made. Photo examined in frame but likely measures close to 16 x 18" and has been signed "Grateful Dead 1967, Bob Seidemann. Estimate Value $800 - 1,200
