Two Titans of Television : Johnny Carson and Milton Berle (Collection). Johnny Carson (1925-2005) for two generations, remains the King of Late Night television. The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson will likely never be equaled in appeal and its place in television history. Offered is an NBC publicity still Inscribed and signed by Carson at his desk coffee cup in hand, and his famous microphone and the wood box that Don Rickles broke guest hosting but failed to mention to Carson which led to one of the funniest live studio "crashes" with Carson confronting Rickles while he was taping CPO Sharkey. Carson hosted for 30 years and proved the most popular and highest paid entertainer on television for two decades. Also offered is a nice collection of 4 handwritten and signed pieces by "Mr. Television", Milton Berle (1908-2002) and a vintage original 1930s era photo taken of Berle likely with co-performers in radio as well as a race track handicapper flyer he sponsored in Atlantic City dated 1958. Like Carson, it is hard to describe the decades long impact Berle had in entertainment not only in radio and television, but film as well. Also known as "Uncle Miltie" Berle dominated television until the mid-1950s and then transitioned to Vegas and then countless guest appearances. He founded The Friars Club a private club made famous for a time for its celebrity roasts. Estimate Value $150 - 250
