Marlene Dietrich Collection #1 Rare Original Publicity Photo, Blonde Venus and Two Signed Photos (1901-1992) Iconic beauty, legendary actress, singer, and noted humanitarian during WWII who enjoyed 65 years in entertainment. Her career began in Germany on stage and cabaret venues and 15 small films. But it was her role in THE BLUE ANGEL (1930) directed by Josef von Sternberg that cemented her stardom. He went on to direct Dietrich in five other films including Blonde Venus (1932). Offered is a publicity still for that film and is likely the most striking portrait of Dietrich ever taken. Photo trimmed for publication, 7¼ x 9¼" and likely shot by Eugene Robert Richee. Photo is from the Peter Bitlisian Collection, New York, and is in very good condition with minor evidence of handling. Stamped on verso from the collection and with other notations that in no way impact the image. Also included are two signed photos, one 8 x 10" glamour portrait boldly signed in marker by Dietrich and a small 5½ x 4" publicity photo taken during her legendary US concert tour in the early 1950s in her infamous Jean Louis dress. Estimate Value $500 - 800
Unsigned photo from the Bitlisian Collection, New York.
