Marilyn Monroe: Inscribed and Signed B&W Photo in Nixed Travilla Costume. Inscribed and signed vintage re-strike photo for GENTLEMEN PREFER BLONDES of the legendary Marilyn Monroe (1926-1962). Inscription and signature reads "To Tommy, Love and Kisses Marilyn Monroe." 8 x 10" photo is from a test with Monroe wearing a daring Travilla costume that was designed but ultimately cut for the "Diamonds Are A Girl's Best Friend" even thought the garment cost close to $4000 to produce. Evidently too hot for the studio and potential for scandal, the jeweled bodice was replaced with the more sophisticated pink satin dress. Monroe's inscription and signature is clean and legible in spite being executed in the gray background. Fine
