Mid-Century Military Field Equipment Huet of Paris Brass Theodolite (Diopter) and a Lambert Time Clock. Two fantastic pieces of French Army field equipment 1.) Manufactured from Huet Paris a Theodolite (sometimes called a Diopter). A theodolite measures vertical angles as angles between the zenith, forwards or plunged—typically approximately 90 and 270 degrees. When the telescope is pointed at a target object, the angle of each of these axes can be measured with great precision, typically to seconds of arc especially important in military exercises. All lenses complete, piece in great condition. Model MG 49/468.
2.) Extremely fine example of a mid-century Lambert Wind-up Military Time Clock. Arthur Lambert was a celebrated French jeweler and watchmaker from Valenciennes who ventured into industrial/commercial time clocks and all but started a global industry. Here a clock for use by the French Army from 1961 in excellent working condition, both clock winding keys, with only the most minimum of scratches. Comes in its original, custom wood box also in great condition with just one small chip in paint finish. Inside, instructions printed on plate in French. A nice piece and in excellent condition. Shipping weight for both pieces combined is about 28 pounds. Estimate Value $200 - 400
