Einstein, Albert Typed Letter Signed (1879-1955) Theoretical physicist who was the most influential scientist of the 20th century. He developed the general theory of relativity. TLS ("A. Einstein"), one page,11 x 8½", in German, Princeton, February 13, 1934. To Reinhold Pietsch in Utica, N.Y. Translation: "I am very happy over your invitation and that you are concerned, with such interest, with scientific problems. Where the search for truth is concerned, I know from my own diligent search and great sacrifice, how difficult it is to find, even with small steps, knowledge of that which is really essentially reliable…." With original, transmittal envelope.

Light toning and normal folds, else fine. Accompanied by two letters, dated December 18, 1975 and January 26, 1976 from Otto Nathan, Trustee of the Estate of Albert Einstein, asking for a photocopy of this letter and thanking the owner for providing a copy. Estimate Value $4,000 - 6,000
