Napoleon I - Autograph Endorsement Signed as Emperor (1769-1821) Corsican-born military general who became emperor of France; recognized as one of the world's greatest military leaders. Autograph endorsement signed "N" as emperor, 3½ x 2½". Cut from a larger document. Above his "N" Napoleon wrote, "apprové - paris le 19 Xe - 1811" [approved - Paris, Oct. 19, 1811]. Written in another hand below is "no. 316." Signed during the Peninsula War, the same year that Napoleon's son and heir was born to the Archduchesse Marie Louise and the year before he commenced his disastrous advance into Russia. Matted with a small color image of Napoleon and framed to an overall size of 10 x 11¾". Fine condition. Estimate Value $600 - 800
