WWII German and Japanese Propaganda - Collection of Five Airborne Leaflets. Airborne leaflet propaganda was a form of psychological warfare. Military forces used aircraft to drop leaflets in order to alter the behavior of combatants and non-combatants in enemy-controlled territory, sometimes in conjunction with air strikes. One leaflet is Japanese; it warns Aussies that while they are away fighting, "the Blacks and the Yanks are raping your wives, your daughters, your sweethearts…." The German leaflets include one that warns the English against the Americans who have flooded England and are seducing their wives. Another warns of the futility of trying to defend against the V 1 flying bomb, saying "The best defence…is to raise both arms in the shape of a large 'V'". Two others warn of "Death from the unknown…Nothing can be seen - Nothing can be heard - But It's There: V2." Fine condition. Estimate Value $300 - 500

Realized $240
