USS ARIZONA, Remarkable Collection of Ship-Related Ephemera, Including a Superb Gunnery's Notebook (Launched: June 19, 1915 - Destroyed December 7, 1941) Fantastic collection of vintage pieces all relating to the USS Arizona from the 1920s to the late 1930s. The signature piece is a 35 page gunnery's notebook and record from the 1935. About half the pages are exceptionally well hand printed including flow charts of the chain of command with respect to administration and battle. There are two pages extensively laying out damage to certain decks and repairs necessary. Also a comprehensive inventory and capability of the ship's armament, secondary battery and anti-aircraft battery. Another page outlines with some schematics battery controls and position, ammo supplies on port and starboard sides again exceptionally well rendered by hand. Also included is a tipped in blue print of four decks of the Arizona. Measures 14 x 8½" with the gunnery ensign's name on cover and several pages inside. Gunnery notebook is in very fine condition.

Also included is a "Pictorial Log" of the USS Arizona which is actually printed on the cover of this string tied album from the early 20s. While the first pages are cruising records, and smooth log sheets, they are blank. But they were definitely printed for use between 1910-1919. Followed is a collection of tipped into album pages and loose, about 60 photo post cards of the Arizona, the crew, and the occasional port. Some were mailed and have dates from the late teens to early 1920s. Overall they have been exceptionally well maintained and show a lot of the day to day duties on board and some involving recreation on deck including boxing. Also included is an unused match cover and two early letter post marked with USS Arizona from crew members.

Third is an oversized folio filled with USS Arizona ephemera including a dozen vintage photos, early crew invitations to dances on shore, holiday menus, commemorative stamp/covers, and several brochures of the USS Arizona Memorial that span decades.

Finally a carefully assembled collection of 85+ commemorative covers and stamps that not only recognized the USS Arizona through the years, but also many of the other ships and destroyers of that era to the end of the 20th century Adding to their collectibility, virtually ever cover has a notation on the folio as to when scrapped, sold or destroyed. A history of America's Naval Fleet as seen through vintage commemorative stamps and covers. Some of the ships included are the Maryland, the Pennsylvania, the Perry, the San Francisco, the Shaw, the Whitney, the West Virginian and many more. This collection is in very fine condition given the 30 to 70 years of most of the pieces.

We invite interested parties to view this collection in person to fully appreciate. Estimate Value $5,000 - UP
