Lot 97

1828 N-7 R3 Large Date PCGS graded MS64 Brown, CAC Approved. Lustrous bluish steel brown and light chocolate with 15% of the obverse showing mint color but only traces of faded mint red remaining visible on the reverse. Frosty and quite attractive, but there are a few minor marks. The notable ones are a couple thin nicks on the bust tip, a few more tiny ones on the jaw, and a spot of dark toning nestled between the upper right points of star 11. LDS with obvious die rust on both sides (tiny lumps on the coin). A very nice example of this variety. Graded MS62 and CC#3 in the Noyes census, his photo #33399. Our grade is MS62. The attribution and Ahumada provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 1; 2 finer, 1 in 65, 1 in 66 for the variety. PCGS #36892. Estimate Value $2,000 - UP
