(1787) John Bolen copy of the LIBERNATUS Pattern for Thomas Machin in copper Kenney-7 EF45. Choice glossy light chocolate brown with olive brown in protected areas. From the early, unbroken state of the dies. Essentially as struck with light friction on the highpoints. Struck by John Bolen of Springfield, Massachusetts, in 1869 with 40 made in copper. Weight 158.3 grains. The extremely rare original is listed on page 67 in the "Redbook." Estimate Value $300 - UP
