1839 N-2 R2 Head of 1838 PCGS graded MS64 Brown. Frosty medium steel brown and chocolate with very faded mint color covering about 10% of both sides. No spots or stains, and the eye appeal is excellent. The only marks are a small horizontal nick (may be a planchet chip) on the cheek right of the nostril and a tiny planchet flake over the E in CENT (as struck). M-LDS. The earlier die lines from the dentils over STAT and RICA are gone and the fields are flowlined. Our grade is MS62. The attribution and Heard provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 5; 3 finer, 2 in 65, 1 in 65+ for the variety. PCGS #37225. Estimate Value $1,000 - UP
