Lot 335

1836 N-6 R2 PCGS graded MS64 Brown, CAC Approved. Attractive frosty tan and light bluish steel brown with about 5% of the mint red remaining visible, mostly on the obverse. The surfaces are slightly dull thanks to a very thin layer of natural oxidation, but the surfaces are covered with underlying frosty mint luster and the eye appeal is excellent. The best identifying mark is a diagonal nick over the left side of star 12, and it is inconspicuous. Nicely struck LDS. There is a cud break over star 8 and a narrow rim cud at star 4, plus numerous fine die cracks on the reverse. Our grade is MS60+, close to MS62. The attribution and Reiver-Heard provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 2; tied for finest MS BN of the variety at both services. PCGS #37126. Estimate Value $1,000 - UP
Ex Jules Reiver, Heritage 1/24/2006:20058-Chris McCawley 2/10/2006-Gene Heard Collection.
