Lot 313

1825 N-9 R2 PCGS graded MS62 Brown. Frosty light to medium chocolate brown with subtle overtones of light bluish steel. This cent has choice mint state eye appeal, but there is a very faint rub on the highest points of the devices. No spots or stains. The notable marks are some thin nicks in the field under stars 7 & 8 and a tiny planchet flake on the upper part of the upright of the E in CENT (as struck). LDS with a fine die crack from the dentils over star 3 to the brow lock. Our grade is AU58+, very close to mint state. The attribution and Heard provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 2; 7 finer for the variety. PCGS #36805. Estimate Value $2,000 - UP
Ex Chris McCawley 6/2/2001-Evan L. Kopald (via Chris McCawley) 2006-Gene Heard Collection (includes the Kopald collection envelope).
