Lot 308

1822 N-11 R2 PCGS graded MS62 Brown. Frosty medium brown and light chocolate with peeps of faded mint color on the reverse. A very attractive cent, void of any spots or stains. Looks mint state but there is a hint of rub on the highest points of the devices and some minor handling marks are scattered over both sides, none notable. MDS with very fine die rust on the portrait (microscopic lumps on the coin) while the fields are smooth thanks to a fresh die polishing. Graded MS60 Choice and tied for CC#3 honors in the Noyes census, his photo #28785. Our grade is AU55+, close to AU58. Comes with a great provenance. The attribution and Garrett-Heard provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 2; 6 finer for the variety. PCGS #36742. Estimate Value $1,250 - UP
