Abila (Abel). Caracalla. Æ 30 (21.83 g), AD 198-217. Dually-dated CY 270 and Year 4 of an unknown era (AD 206/7). Laureate and cuirassed bust of Caracalla right. Reverse: flaming altar beneath central arch of hexastyle temple, Nike surmounting pediment; to either side of temple, tower with arched door and window; above and to right, dates (TO Δ and KOC). Meshorer 214; Spijkerman 18; Rosenberger -. Rare and impressive! A fine architectural type. Pleasing green patina with light earthen deposits. Very Fine. Estimate Value $1,000 - 1,200
