1797 NC-2 R6 NGC Fine Details, Obverse Damage. Dark steel and olive brown. The planchet is a bit dull thanks to microscopic roughness but there are no notable signs of verdigris. The only significant mark is a dull dig near the dentils right of the Y in LIBERTY. The date is strong and the legends are clear except for weakness on the denominator. LDS, Breen state V. The cud break over D-ST is strong and a fine crack passes through the top of TES in STATES. Not perfect but still one of the sharpest examples known of this very rare variety.
