Lot 656

1776 Continental Dollar in Pewter Newman 2-C CURENCY Rarity-3. PCGS graded MS-63. CAC. Frosty bright silvery gray with darker medium gray toning on the highpoints of the devices. The only notable defects are a spot of tin pest below the second C in CURENCY and a couple smaller ones at the bottom of the reverse. The small pest marks are not distracting and this piece offers excellent eye appeal. MDS with a narrow internal cud break over GI in FUGIO but before the die crack through the sun and T above. A nice example of this historic pattern dollar for the fledgling United States. Listed on page 87 in the "Redbook." Pop 19; 12 finer, 11 in 64, 1 in 65. Estimate Value $70,000 - UP
The 1776 Paul Collector.

Realized $129,250
