1652 Massachusetts Pine Tree Sixpence Noe-33 R5 PCGS graded VF30. Type with pellets on either side of the tree trunk. Glossy medium grayish steel with slightly darker toning in protected areas. No marks or planchet defects, just lightly worn. The Pine Tree, date, denomination, and pellets beside the tree trunk are all strong. Struck with the obverse die only slightly misaligned to the top of the planchet, clearly better than most of the variety, while the reverse is off center slightly to the bottom. A well-balanced yet relatively affordable example of this tough denomination. Listed on page 41 in the "Redbook." Weight shown as 33.5 grains on the PCGS label. Estimate Value $2,000 - UP
