Lot 211

1803 S-250 R3 PCGS graded MS62 Brown, CAC Approved. Lustrous light brown and tan with slightly darker steel brown toning on the highpoints of the devices. A beautiful cent with great eye appeal. The only notable marks, and they are insignificant, are a faint vertical hairline up from a dentil left of the lowest curl, a tiny nick under the I in LIBERTY, and a small flake of planchet impurity on the left edge of the R in AMERICA (as struck). MDS with microscopic radial die flowlines in the fields on both sides. Graded AU55 and tied for CC#5 in the Bland census. Noyes says MS60 net AU55 and tied for CC#5, his photo #36177. Our grade is AU58+. Comes with a nice provenance along with grading notes from Del Bland. The attribution and Reynolds provenance are noted on the PCGS Secure label. Pop 3; 2 finer at PCGS for the variety, 1 in 63, 1 in 65. Estimate Value $4,000 - UP
