1800 S-209 R3 PCGS Genuine, AU Details, Cleaning. Frosty medium chocolate brown and steel with lighter brown toning in protected areas. Reddish steel brown toning shows in some of the protected areas on the upper half of the reverse and there is a puff of darker olive brown toning under ST in STATES. The only notable defects are a small patch of microscopic pitting over the top of the A in STATES and a dusting of very fine carbon left of the O in OF. This cent offers excellent eye appeal and we can find no evidence of "cleaning." LDS, Breen state VII, with a narrow rim break in the dentils just right of the denominator in addition to strong die clashmarks on the obverse and swelling at TY in LIBERTY. Graded VF35 and tied for CC#10 in the Bland census. Noyes says EF45 net VF25 and tied for CC#11, his photo #35058. Our grade is VF35 sharpness net VF30.
