Stunning 9 lb. Rutilated Quartz Crystal Specimen From Brazil. Magnificent example of a Rutilated Quartz which is a transparent quartz with golden yellow Rutile inclusions that are in hair-like growths. These inclusions vary greatly but usually appear like thin golden hairs criss-crossing, or forming starburst patterns, ideally dense in formation. This mammoth specimen has it all, weighing nearly 9 lbs. and measuring 9 x 8½ x 1", edges and surfaces smoothly polished to a mirror finish. Quartz crystal is so large that it seems like peering through an aquarium. The colors of the quartz range from transparent to a smokey brown color, and it is dense with golden rutile inclusions through 75% of the specimen.
