AN ANTIQUE REVOLUTIONARY WAR PERIOD ENGLISH BRASS BARREL FLINTLOCK PISTOL MADE BY S. JOSEPH. An antique Revolutionary War Period brass barrel flintlock pistol made by S. JOSEPH, circa. 1770's. 7.75" octagon-to-round brass smooth-bore barrel in .56 cal. struck on the left side of breech with two TOWER PROOFS. Brass furniture includes a trigger guard with an 'acorn' finial and decorative engraved long-earred butt cap and side plate. The lock has maker's name engraved 'S. JOSEPH', is in it's original flintlock configuration, and in good mechanical working order. The stock is sound with wood lose in front and just below lock plate, sliver missing from the upper right edge of fore-end, scratches and dings from years of handling. Bone tipped wood ram rod. 14.25" overall. $2,000 - 4,000
