LOT OF (3) ANTIQUE JAPANESE KOTO - EARLY EDO PERIOD WAKIZASHI SHORT SWORDS AND (1) FULL WAKIZASHI MOUNT WITHOUT BLADE FOR RESTORATION. Lot of (3) Japanese Koto-early Edo period Wakizashi short swords and (1) full Wakizashi mount (without blade) for restoration. (1) 16" 'HACHO' (cutting edge = 11.5") Koto period, signed tang blade with visible 'HAMON' in need of a professional polish. Excellent period 'SAYA' with fantastic silver and gold 'KOIJIRI/ISHIZUKE' (chape), missing the belt 'KURIGATA'. Worked iron 'TSUBA' of the period. Signed 'FUCHI' with applied gold and silver. Gold plated copper 'HABAKI'. Intact ray skin on grip. Missing the 'TSUKA ITO' (cord wrap), 'KASHIRA' (pommel), and 'MENUKI'. (2) is a 20.25" 'KOTO' period blade 16" 'HACHO' (cutting edge) and need a professional polish. Period 'SAYA' with gold, silver, and copper over iron 'KURIGATA', missing the 'KOIJIRI' (chape), missing the 'HABAKI', 'SEPOA', 'TSUBA', 'FUCHI', MENUKI', and 'TSUKA' (grip with ray skin and cord wrap). (3) is a Wakizashi with a 18.5" blade, 14" 'HACHO' (cutting edge), with edge nicks, partially visible 'HAMON' (temper line), with signed tang. Polished stingray skin covered 'SAYA' with loses and shrinkage, missing the 'KURIGATA', missing the 'TSUBA'. Intact 'TSUKA' (ray skin and cord wrapped grip with 'MENUKI'. 26" overall. (4) is a full Wakizashi mount of the Koto-Edo period (without the blade). 19.5" overall. Note; all four items do not have the 'KOGATANA' (mini 'TANTO' side knives). This is an excellent group worthy of restoration…. $2,000 - 4,000
