Antique Two-Handed 16th Century Style ca. 19th Century and Older. Impressive European antique two handed cruciform style broadsword in late 16th century style, made ca. 19th Century or older. Straight double-edged blade, nicely tempered and shows a good patina with brass inlaid letters on both sides of central ridge that read, Vive Le Roy (Long Live The King) starting 4½" from the hilt. A pair of quillons terminating with stylized stag heads (outermost horns of each show losses) and a fox in relief at center, globular pommel with each side boasting engraved stag head with remnants of gold wash and finally the large grip made of twisted and flat sectioned copper wire with "Turk's Head" ferrules. No scabbard. Blade is 37.5" overall length 52". A fantastic, interesting display piece. $2,500 - 5,000
