AN ANTIQUE (PAIR) OF EARLY 18TH CENTURY FLINTLOCK HOLSTER PISTOLS CONVERTED TO PERCUSSION. An antique (pair) of early 18th century (most likely Dutch) flintlock holster pistols, circa. 1720-1740 converted to percussion in the 1840's. 9. 5/8".56 cal. steel octagon to round barrels. Ornate engraved brass furniture includes a fine Dragon side plate and grotesque face mask butt caps. Both stocks are sound with horn fore-end caps, wonderful high-relief carving with beautiful shells around the barrel tangs, a few stress cracks, minor chips, dings, and scratches from years of handling. Both locks have the remnants of high quality decorative engraving (now worn light) and are in good mechanical working order. 16" overall. $4,000 - 6,000
