Doolittle, James H. (1896-1993). Aviation pioneer and Lieutenant General of the U.S. Army Air Corps who was awarded the Medal of Honor for his leadership during a raid of Japan during World War II. Lot of two items. 1. Signed photo ("J.H. Doolittle"), black and white, 8 x 10", n.p., n.d. With a holograph inscription "To the Kohlbeeks: / With kindest personal / regards." A handsome portrait of the mature officer. With just a few tiny chips along the left edge, this photo is fine. 2. Signature ("J.H. Doolittle") on a First Day Cover for the United Nations Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons, postmarked New York, February 14, 1972. Additionally signed by Paul W. Tibbets ("Paul W. Tibbets"), the pilot of the plane that dropped the atom bomb on Hiroshima, and Edward Teller ("Edward Teller"), the "father of the hydrogen bomb". Accompanied by a Letter of Authenticity from PSA/DNA. A rare combination of signers, and in fine condition. $200 - 300
