Egypto-Roman Gold Repoussé Ornament. 18 kt. gold repoussé medallion ornament with loops on either side for ease of attachment. Features a matronly woman bearing a cornucopia brimming with fruits of the harvest at her left shoulder and a winged putto at her exposed right shoulder. This likely one of the hybrid goddesses of fertility recognized in Roman Egypt. Plaster applied to the reverse to preserve the shape of the relief pounded into the delicate gold sheet.
