Capone, Alphonse. (1899-1947). American gangster during Prohibition whose power in Chicago has been the subject of countless films, television productions, and books. Following the infamous Valentine's Day Massacre, Capone became "Public Enemy No.1" and was successfully brought to justice on grounds of tax evasion. Offered here is an autographed dinner menu, signed "Al Capone" from the former Roney Plaza Hotel in Miami Beach, which was opened in 1926 on Collins Ave., then torn down in 1968. Capone and family resided on Palm Island from 1927 - 1948 in a Mediterranean styled mansion. Based on the prices we estimate the menu and signature to be from the middle to late 1930s. Signature is executed in brown fountain pen ink in top left corner across the name of the hotel. Signature is very legible. Menu measures 7½ x 5" clean save for light toning due to age and was decades ago, twice folded but in no way a distraction. $1,000

Realized $1,625
