LOT OF (2) ANTIQUE CIVIL WAR U.S. MODEL 1840 'WRIST BREAKER' CAVALRY SWORDS. Lot of (2) antique American Civil War period U.S. Model 1840 'Wrist Breaker' cavalry swords. (1) has a 35.5" curved single edge blade marked 'U.S', 'N.W.P' (inspector mark) and dated '1845'; tip of blade is broken off, light pitting and age spotting. Brass hilt and guard. Original wood grip with 40% of the twisted brass wire remaining over the leather (flaking and worn). Comes with original relic condition steel scabbard missing the lower 7.5" including the drag. (2) has a 36" curved single edge blade with heavy dark brown age patina. The only visible markings remain are 'C.J'. Brass hilt and guard. Original wood grip missing 95% of the twisted brass wire and leather. No scabbard. 41.5" overall. $800 - 1,200
