Collection of Three (3) Civil War Swords. 1.) US model 1860 Cavalry sword made by Ames Mfg. Co. Chicopee, Mass. and US G.W.C., 1864. 35" curved blade with clear markings, age spotting, no scabbard. Regulation brass hilt/guard with pommel marked G.W.C. Original leather over wood grip with 100% intact twist brass wire (some leather flaking) 40¾" overall. 2.) US Model 1840 Light Artillery Saber (unmarked) 32½" curved blade. Regulation brass hilt/guard with wood grip covered in leather and twisted brass wire (large split in wood, some leather loss and 5% wire remaining) no scabbard. May be a foreign import. Dark age patina. 38" overall. 3.) US Model 1860 Cavalry sword made by Ames Mfg. Co. Chicopee, Mass. and US, JF and the date, 1865. 35" curved blade with clear markings, dark age spotting, no scabbard. Regulation brass hilt/guard with pommel marked A.D.K. (inspector). Wood grip covered in leather (75% missing) and no twisted brass wire remains. 40¾" overall. $1,000 - 1,500
