Antique 18th Century European Silver Mounted Smallsword. Three-sided "colichemarde" profile blade ca. 1700s, slightly concave with heavier lower section to receive an opponent's blows, areas of decorative etching with unidentified inscriptions. Silver hilt chased in low relief, comprising double shell-guard decorated with foliage, a pair of plain arms, quillon block decorated with foliage molding, globular pommel decorated "en suite" with guard and solid grip decorated to match. No scabbard. Blade 33" and overall lenght 39½". $1,000 - 2,000
