FRENCH MILITARY MODEL 1777 FLINTLOCK PISTOL, ST. ETIENNE, OF THE REVOLUTIONARY WAR PERIOD. An Antique French Military Model 1777 flintlock pistol, c.1779-1783. Made at the St. Etienne arsenal. Barrel is just shy of 7.5" and .69-70 cal. 13.75" overall length. All steel parts have light to moderate salt and pepper pitting. Original flint. Stock has several inspector's marks and date mark of '1783' (2) old age cracks in grip region w/scratches and dings from years of service. This example was issued with a belt hook (now missing). In good working order. This pattern of pistol was imported/supplied by the French to aid the American forces for the American Revolutionary War. Note; some screws have been replaced. Hammer is a replacement of correct form; ramrod is replaced. $1,500 - 3,000
